Do you love winter sports? Then Lipno is the right choice for you since you can put on your downhill skis, snowboard, cross-country skis or skates at the apartment and head out. Those who like walking through a snowy landscape will be thrilled with the view from the Treetop Walkway, which offers you a unique view of Šumava’s winter landscape and the Lipno Dam.

The Ski Resort Lipno is the perfect place for families with children. The Apartments JBX Lipno is only a 5-minute drive away, or you can use the ski bus, which stops right at the apartments’s front door. You couldn’t ask for anything more. Don’t worry – your children will have fun all day. The resort includes a snow park, an entertaining ski cross course, a timed slalom run, an educational Fox park as well as animation programmes. Simply, a children’s paradise. Refreshments and supplementary services, like equipment rentals or a ski school, are also available on the grounds.

Ski Resort Hochficht

Go skiing to the largest Austrian resort located outside the Alps. A total of 21 km of runs, free parking, various attractions for children, equipment rentals, a restaurant and a ski school with Czech-speaking staff – all this only 40 minutes away from the Apartments JBX Lipno.

Ski Resort Sternstein

A smaller family ski resort is located a 20-minute drive away from apartments. If you prefer resorts that are not as busy, we recommend visiting Sternstein. Great facilities with Czech-speaking staff are offered to you for example in the form of a ski school or restaurant. There are three regularly groomed runs that are 1,500 – 1,800 m long; they offer a wonderful view of the Alps.

Cross-country skiing

In addition to downhill skiing, cross-country skiing is also a popular sport in the Lipno area. Under good snow conditions, dozens of kilometres are groomed; trails that you can use for both classic and skate skiing. There are approx. 40 km of trails in the area of the Lipno ski resort between Lipno nad Vltavou and Frymburk. For more demanding cross-country skiers, we recommend visiting Schöneben in Austria, where there are as many as 70 km of trails and it is only a 40-minute drive away.

Lipno Ice Trail

We can boast one of the longest skating tracks in all of Europe. If you want to try the ice on Lipno, you can take advantage of one of the rental shops and head out right from Lipno nad Vltavou. The loop leads to Frymburk, where you can purchase refreshments at a snack bar right on the ice, and then take the trail back through Přední Výtoň. The trail is approx. 10 km in total. You don’t have to worry – everyday quality and ice thickness checks are carried out for your safety.
